Act I

A Ride to
the Airport

Their story started somewhere unlikely — a ride to the airport before Adam left for the Netherlands. A family friend, between basketball talk and traffic, asked if he was single, then mentioned someone: a Jewish doctor, a Canadian, and — most importantly — a Packers fan.

"You had me at Packers fan."

Act II

The Most Important
Presentation of His Career

Erica had one request — a blessing, not permission. Adam invited Bethe and Sheldon to a "practice" work presentation. It was not practice.

Act III

A Rooftop &
a Hidden Ring

Adam proposed on the rooftop of The Whiskey Factory — the same place they'll marry. He hid the ring inside a custom illustrated book of the two of them and their dog Weasley, with magical touches from Cliff Wright, illustrator of several original Harry Potter books. Saying yes was the easiest part.

Adam proposing on the rooftopThe question, on the rooftop

And the book that hid the ring? What's inside is below.

Inside the book

Drawn by Hand,
Just for Them

The ring was hidden inside a one-of-a-kind illustrated book — and this is its centerpiece. Erica and Adam soar on a hippogriff over a moonlit wood, Hedwig wheeling overhead and Weasley bounding along below. It was drawn by Cliff Wright, the illustrator behind several of the original Harry Potter books — and Hedwig here is drawn from Cliff's own design for Prisoner of Azkaban. The artist who taught the world how to picture Hedwig drew theirs. One image, holding all of it: a little magic, their dog, and each other.

A quick word on cocktail attire: think a suit and tie or a sport coat, a cocktail dress, or a dressy jumpsuit — polished but comfortable enough to dance in. The venue is an old whiskey distillery, so heels and thin soles may fight the floors a little. Please, no jeans or sneakers — and skip long floor-length gowns, those are for us. When in doubt, dress it up.
